Haryana beefs up vigil along borders with Punjab as farmers call for ‘Delhi Chalo’

New Delhi: While the farmers are reuniting after the call given by the farmer organizations to go to Delhi on February 21, the police have also increased the vigil at the checkpoints.

While the district administration has completely closed the Ghaggar bridge to prevent the farmers from going to Delhi, there are also barricades on the roads of many towns and villages. Now the vigil at the checkpoints has been further increased. Section 144 has been imposed in the district and internet services are completely suspended.

Farmers’ organisations affiliated to the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) have announced to go to Delhi on February 21, following which the police have stepped up vigil at the checkpoints. Farmer leader Jasbir Singh Bhati, who has been camping on the National Highway near Panjuana village for the last one week to go to Delhi, has said that the government is hanging the demands of the farmers. Four rounds of talks with the government have not yielded any result, so the farmers will now go to Delhi.

He said that the farmers will now move forward with great preparation and will reach Delhi after removing all the obstacles. On the other hand, Sanyukt Kisan Morcha Committee member and Kisan Sabha leader Dr. Sukhdev Singh Jammu has told that there is a lot of anger among the farmers due to the government’s dilly-dallying policy. He said that on February 21, farmer organizations will gherao the offices of BJP leaders to meet the demands of the farmers.
