India bans goods from Pakistan after Pahalgam attack

New Delhi: India has banned the import of goods from Pakistan or those arriving through its border following the killing of tourists by militants in Pahalgam. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification that the ban would come into immediate effect.

India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack, an allegation Islamabad has denied. Pakistan, in response, claimed it has intelligence inputs suggesting India is planning a military operation.

In retaliation, Pakistan announced a series of countermeasures, including halting all border trade, closing its airspace to Indian aircraft, and expelling Indian diplomats.
