Interfaith couple beaten up by forcibly entering hotel room, two of six attackers arrested

In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, six individuals trespassed into a hotel room in Karnataka, assaulting a couple for the perceived “crime” of cohabiting despite being from different religions. Just days prior, a video emerged showing the beating of two cousins in the state, who were wrongly assumed to be an interfaith couple. The attackers recorded the latest incident themselves, seemingly aiming for notoriety. The video depicts six people standing outside a lodge room in Hanagal taluka of Haveri district. After noting the room number, they knock on the door. Upon the door opening, they proceed directly toward the woman, who attempts to shield her face with a burqa. The assailants violently strike the woman, causing her to fall to the ground. The man in the room is also assaulted, and as he tries to escape, several attackers apprehend him. In the video, one assailant corners the woman near the bed, while another stabs her again and pulls her to the ground once more.
