Jaipur bandh call today after Rajput leader shot dead in his house

Jaipur: Supporters of prominent Rajput leader Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have called for a ‘Jaipur bandh’ today after he was shot dead at his house. Gogamedi’s supporters have also threatened a statewide shutdown if action is not taken. CCTV footage shows that Gogamedi, who led a marginal outfit called Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was shot dead by three men who were having tea with him in his living room.
Gangster Rohit Godara, who is closely associated with Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs, has claimed responsibility for the murder in a Facebook post. Gogamedi and his two associates received bullet injuries in the attack and were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. One of the assailants was also killed by Gogamedi’s associates during the gunfight, police said. The sensational murder of the Rajput leader triggered protests in Rajasthan, where the BJP defeated the Congress in the recently held assembly elections.
