Raghav-Parineeti’s engagement will take place at Kapurthala House, know its Punjab connection

New Delhi: Kapurthala House will also witness the engagement of Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha and film actress Parineeti Chopra. The Kapurthala House in Connaught Place, Delhi, where Parineeti and Raghav will perform the engagement rituals in the presence of selected guests, was built by Maharaja Jagatjit Singh of Kapurthala state. 
     This place used to be the residence of Maharaja Kapurthala during his stay in Delhi during the princely state. At the end of the princely period, the Chief Minister and ministers of Punjab use it as a residence when they come to Delhi. This is where Raghav-Parineeti’s engagement ceremony is taking place.
     Kapurthala House was built by Maharaja Jagatjit Singh between 1900 and 1910. When Delhi was being settled under British rule, plots were given to the kings of all the princely states of the country to build houses. 
    Maharaja Kapurthala built the Kapurthala House for use as a residence when he visited the Delhi. 
    An expert in the princely state of Kapurthala, said that Kapurthala House was built by Maharaja Jagatjit Singh in the 20th century. He often stayed there during his stay in Delhi. Which is currently used as a residence by the Punjab government.
