Rahul Gandhi gets 2 years’ jail on Modi surname defamation case
New Delhi: A Surat district court today convicted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case filed over his alleged ‘Modi surname’ remark and sentenced him to two years in jail, but was later granted bail. BJP MLA and former Gujarat minister Purnesh Modi had filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that Rahul has destroyed the pride of the entire Modi community by making false remarks against the Modi surname.
