Same-sex marriage not recognised, Parliament to decide on changes in law: Supreme Court

New Delhi: Same-sex couples have received a big setback from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has refused to recognize same-sex marriage.
The CJI said that it is a matter of parliament’s jurisdiction. He has issued guidelines to the central government to take appropriate steps for the rights of homosexuals.
The Supreme Court has already legalised same-sex relationships. At the same time, after a 10-day long hearing on 11 May 2023, the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court had reserved its decision on this, now only the verdict was awaited.
