Sonia Gandhi files nomination for Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan

New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi is the party’s candidate from Rajasthan in the Rajya Sabha election. On Wednesday, she filed her nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.

She was accompanied by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi reached Jaipur with Rahul in the morning.

All the MLAs signed Sonia Gandhi’s nomination set at the residence of Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra. Congress MLAs Ghanshyam Meher, Dungraram Gaidar, Rita Chaudhary, Bhimraj Bhati, Shimla Nayak, Geeta Barwad, CL Premi signed the nomination set.

Congress veteran Sonia Gandhi has been a Lok Sabha member continuously since 1999.

She is currently representing the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh. She has also been a Lok Sabha member from Amethi. This will be the first time that she will go to the Upper House of Parliament. Earlier, Sonia Gandhi has been a member of the Lok Sabha.
