14 districts of Punjab hit by floods: Kin perform funeral on the road in Jalandhar

Government announces holiday in schools til July 16
Punjab E News: The danger of floods has increased in Punjab. In view of the waterlogging in the state, the AAP government has closed all government, private, aided and recognized schools till July 16. Earlier this holiday was till July 13. School Education Minister Harjot Bains said that no child or teacher will go to school during this period.
At the same time, 14 districts in Punjab are in the grip of floods. Their 1,058 villages are affected. Rescue operations have been intensified in the state after the Bhakra Beas dam management decided not to release water for the next three days.
    In Ferozepur, the Hazare-wala bridge over the Sutlej river has been washed away. Due to which about two dozen villages have been affected. In Ferozepur, around 60 villages have been submerged in water.
   The Patar-Khanauri bridge in Patiala was washed away. Due to which the connectivity of Delhi from Sangrur Road has been cut off.
A retired teacher had to be cremated on the road due to floods in Shahkot, Jalandhar. The cremation ground here has also been submerged in flood water. According to family members, the master of the village, Sohan Singh, died due to lack of health services due to floods.
