AAP government lays major focus on holistic development of villages – Balkar Singh

Local Bodies Minister lays foundation stones of several development projects worth Rs 76 lakh

Jalandhar News: Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Saturday laid foundation stones of several infrastructure development projects worth Rs 76 lakh in the various places of Jalandhar.

The projects for which foundation stones laid include construction of new health and wellness centre (Rs 30 lakh) in Kalyanpur, a community hall (Rs 20 lakh) in Gobindpur and new streets and drains (Rs 6 lakh) in Gill and new panchayat hall in Nahal (Rs 20 lakh) villages of the district.

In his address, the Minister said that these development projects would have a significant impact on the socio-economic conditions of the people in these villages. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had given highest priority to the development of villages to facilitate the people. He said that there was no paucity of the funds for the development of villages and every effort will be made to ensure timely completion of these projects.

Singh said the people of villages related to these development works would be directly benefited and also asked panchayats to send proposals for new works as demanded by panchayats.

The Cabinet Minister also listed the achievements of the AAP government including 600 free units of electricity, one MLA-one pension, Aam Aadmi Clinics, 30000 government jobs were given to the youths, a war against corruption, and several other pro-people decisions were taken for the state.

Heads and members of villages panchayats were also present on the occasion.
