DC ASKS OFFICERS TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE AND RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT TO PEOPLE OF JALANDHAR

SAYS ADMINISTRATION DUTY-BOUND TO ENSURE THAT PEOPLE DO NOT FACE ANY SORT OF PROBLEM IN GETTING THEIR ROUTINE ADMINISTRATIVE WORKS DONE

Jalandhar: In a bid to provide effective and responsive government to the people, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Vishesh Sarangal today asked the officers to accord top priority to the day-to-day administrative works of the people.

In an introductory meeting here at his office with the ministerial staff, the Deputy Commissioner said that the officers were duty-bound to ensure that people do not face any sort of problem in getting their routine administrative works done.  Mr. Sarangal said that it was our collective responsibility to ensure people get the benefit of all pro-people initiatives of the state government. He further added that this would help in facilitating the people besides ensuring that they get the administrative services in a time-bound manner.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the entire team to play a proactive role to percolate the benefit of these schemes in an coordinated and result oriented manner. He said that this would help in immensely benefitting the people to avail these facilities. Mr. Sarangal also asked the officers to make sure that there staff also performs its duty well adding that the staff must be further sensitised to deal the public efficiently so that they do not face any sort of inconvenience.

The DC asserted that maximum awareness must be spread among masses regarding government schemes so that people can take benefit of these schemes. He directed them to carry forward the welfare programs and policies of the Punjab government to safeguard the interests of the weaker and underprivileged sections of the society. He said that he would also ensure that an effective and transparent mechanism was put in place for benefiting the people of the region in a big way. The Deputy Commissioner asked the Revenue Officers to play a proactive role in ensuring that the important works like issuance of caste, marriage, residence and other certificates also do not get delayed inordinately as it would lead towards smooth and hassle-free disposal of citizen services.

Meanwhile, he told to the entire administrative team that he was 24×7 available to all the officials and they can approach him directly in case of any problem. He also assured fulsome support and cooperation to all the officers for performing their duty diligently.

Officials from Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Urban Development, District Administration, Revenue Department, Sewa Kendra, besides others participated in the meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioners Amit Mahajan, Jasbir Singh, SDMs Vikas Heera, Balbir Raj Singh, Pinki Devi, Circle Revenue Officers, All patwari and kanoongo were present in the meeting.
