Encounter between police and drug smuggler attacked in Hoshiarpur, one killed

Chandigarh: In Hoshiarpur’s Dasuha, the police who went to catch the drug smugglers were attacked by them. In retaliation to the police, a drug smuggler was encountered. Two police officers were also injured in the incident.

The incident took place in Mewa Miyani village under Dasuha area. Where the police received information about the involvement of a person from the village in the drug trade.

After which when the Dasuha police team reached the house of Avtar Singh son of Sucha Singh, resident of Mewa Miani, Sucha Singh attacked the police party. ASI Satnam Singh and another police officer were seriously injured.

In retaliation, the police opened fire at Sucha Singh, killing him. Senior police officials of the district are reaching the spot after the incident.
