HC suspends Ludhiana judicial magistrate, Court finds several lapses during inspection

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended a judicial magistrate who was posted in Ludhiana. Flaws were identified in the judge’s work during Justice’s visit to Ludhiana.

In response, Acting Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and other High Court judges have taken action against Judicial Magistrate First Class–Civil Judge (Junior Division) Rajiv Garg.

During his suspension, his headquarters have been relocated to Nawanshahr.

According to reports, Justice Sandhawalia visited Ludhiana last week and scrutinized Judge Garg’s performance. Deficiencies were observed in court proceedings, record maintenance, and discharge of duties during the inspection. Sandhawalia has taken note of these issues.
