Kotkapura firing case: Third charge sheet of 2502 pages filed by Punjab Police
Punjab E News: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Punjab Police on Monday filed a 2,502-page supplementary challan in a Faridkot court in connection with the 2015 Kotkapura firing case.
Earlier, the SIT had filed a 7,000-page charge sheet on February 24 this year in which the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the then Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, the then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, suspended IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal, the then DIG Ferozepur Amar Singh Chahal, the then SSP Moga Charanjit Singh Sharma, the then SSP Faridkot Sukhmander Singh Mann and the then SHO City Kotkapura Gurdeep Singh were named as accused.
Exactly two months later, on April 24, the SIT submitted a 2,400-page supplementary challan and on Monday, a third 2,502-page charge sheet was filed.
Meanwhile, following the death of the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who was among the named accused, his name has been recorded in column number 2 of the accused in the charge sheet filed.
