Now, Liquor will be available at shops in Punjab, 77 shops to open from April 1

Chandigarh: The Punjab government is set to open liquor shops in the city separately from liquor vends. People will be able to buy liquor from these shops instead of going on contracts. Liquor and beer will also be available at these shops from April 1.

Under the new excise policy, this decision has been taken keeping in mind those who refrain from going to liquor contracts. In the first phase, 77 shops will be opened in different cities of the state.
Excise Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the Punjab government is going to open 77 beer and liquor shops in cities from April 1. Those who do not want to go to contracts will now be able to get liquor in the city market itself.
He said that with the opening of these shops, the income of the government will also increase. All preparations have been made for this.
Apart from contracts, liquor shops are already open in Chandigarh. Beer with exotic scotch is available in these shops. The Punjab government will implement this system in the state and allow liquor and beer shops in crowded markets.
