Petrol price hiked by 92 paise and diesel by 88 paise per litre in Punjab

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has announced an increase of 92 paise in the price of petrol and 88 paise per liter in diesel for retail consumers.
     The Excise and Taxation Department has issued a notification regarding the increase in oil prices. The AAP government has increased fuel prices for the second time in the current year.
     With this increase, the state government expects to bring an additional revenue of Rs 600 crore annually to the exchequer.
    Sources in the finance department said that despite today’s hike in oil prices, diesel is still cheaper in Punjab, unlike neighbouring Haryana. Petrol and diesel are still cheaper in Punjab as compared to Rajasthan.
