Punjab farmers to march to Chandigarh today: Tractor-trolleys to leave from Ambala’s Shambhu border; Police detained several leaders

Chandigarh News: As many as 16 farmer unions from Haryana and Punjab have announced to march to Chandigarh today, after which the police-administration and farmers have come face to face.
The police started arresting the farmers on Monday. Police arrested farmer leaders in several districts, including Ambala, a day earlier.
Several farmer leaders, including Amarjeet Singh Mohri, national president of Bharatiya Kisan Union Shaheed Bhagat Singh, have been detained by the police from Ambala.
On the other hand, the farmers have threatened to launch an agitation, calling it a breach of promise. Farmers will gather at Shambhu border today and march towards Chandigarh with tractor-trolleys, but concrete arrangements have been made by the administration to stop the farmers.
The Ganna Sangharsh Samiti and the Bharatiya Kisan Union Chaduni Group have warned the government that all the detained farmer leaders should be released with dignity, otherwise there will be a big agitation, for which the government will be responsible. After the arrest of the farmer leaders, Amarjeet Singh Mohri has appealed to the farmers to show solidarity.
