Punjab Government vaccinates more than 1 lakh animals in 18 days in flood affected areas

Punjab News: As per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the State Government machinery has been working round the clock in flood affected areas. From July 10 to July 27, a total of 29,380 animals were treated in the state and 1,15,361 animals were vaccinated by Animal Husbandry Department.

Similarly, the teams of the health department are working in the flood-affected areas with full attention. According to the spokesperson, total OPD is 1,14,580 till date.

As per the records of the revenue department, a total of 1475 villages in the state have been affected by floods so far.

27286 persons have been evacuated and taken to safe places till date. An official spokesperson informed that a total of 159 relief camps are running in the state, in which 1277 people are staying.

He further informed that dry food packets are also being distributed to the people in the flood affected areas. Total 19 districts have affected/are suffering from floods including Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Kapurthala, Patiala, Moga, Ludhiana, SAS. Nagar, Jalandhar, Sangrur, SBS. Nagar, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Mansa, Pathankot and Bathinda.

According to the reports received by the revenue department from different districts, a total of 44 people have lost their lives due to floods in the state while 22 people have been injured.
