Shortage of fuel amid strike: Man shot at petrol pump in Faridkot after dispute

In Faridkot, a young man was fatally shot by a pump owner while attempting to fill petrol in anticipation of a shortage due to the ongoing strike of truck drivers. He has been admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Fortunately, the victim’s condition has now stabilized. Baljit Singh, a resident of Kannianwali, recounted that his son and two friends had visited the Kisan Seva Kendra petrol pump in Aulakh village to refuel their bike. The petrol workers were charging higher rates, which his son and friends refused to pay. This refusal led to a dispute, resulting in the petrol pump staff assaulting his son and friends.
Petrol pump owner Bindu also reached the spot amid the incident. It is alleged that he fired from a pistol. One of the bullets hit Mahendra’s leg. He has been admitted to the hospital in injured condition.
