State Lok Adalat Provides Opportunity to reunite Four Couples

As many as 166 cases settled in State Lok Adalat held at Mohali

SAS Nagar: Four couples living apart have been reunited in the State Lok Adalat held at Sessions Division, SAS Nagar, today.
The cases of these four couples were pending in the Court of Barjinder Pal Singh, Principal Judge, Family Court, SAS Nagar. With the efforts of the Presiding Officer and Members of the Bench, were counseled and convinced to lead a happy life after resolving their differences.
Divulging more details, Baljinder Singh Maan, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, said that the State Lok Adalat was held in Sessions Division, SAS Nagar under the aegis of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court-cum-Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority. As many as 420 cases were taken up, out of which 166 cases were disposed of by virtue of compromise and awards worth Rs.38,97,75,586/- were passed by the different Lok Adalat benches, added Baljinder Singh Maan.
In this Lok Adalat, five benches were constituted at District Headquarter which were being presided over by Avtar Singh, Additional District & Sessions Judge; Sandeep Kumar Singla, Additional District & Sessions Judge; Barjinder Pal Singh, Principal Judge, Family Court; Jagjeet Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Ms. Vishavjyoti , Civil Judge (Junior Division).
Besides , one bench at Sub-Division, Kharar presided by Ms. Sudipa Kaur, Civil Judge (Junior Division) and one bench at Sub-Division, Dera Bassi of Ramesh Kumar, Civil Judge (Junior Division) were constituted.
District & Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar, Harpal Singh, had convened various meetings of judicial officers, advocates, representatives of Insurance Companies and other stakeholders for the successful organization of this Lok Adalat.
