Vigilance action against corruption, former DIG Inderbir Singh accused of taking bribe in NDPS case

Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has taken major action on the NDPS case. Former Ferozepur DIG Inderveer Singh has been named in the NDPS case that took place in Tarn Taran last year.
     According to the information, an FIR was registered in Bhikhipind on June 30 last year, in which the accused named Surjeet was arrested with drugs.
    Investigation of the case revealed that the police had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,00,000. Nishant Singh, Hira Singh, DSB Lakhbir Singh and a head constable were also named in the case.
    On interrogation, DSP Lakhbir Sandhu revealed that Inderveer Singh had demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh to acquit the accused in the case.
    DSP Lakhbir Singh was arrested in the case on July 6 last year. It is being said that soon there will be big revelations in this case.
