With minimum 0.01 % pendency, Jalandhar tops the state in e-sewa service delivery

Jalandhar: In a significant achievement, Jalandhar has attained first position in the Punjab with minimum pendency at 0.01 % in the delivery of citizen centric services to the people through Sewa Kendras.

Divulging more about the feat as per the fresh report of the Punjab Government, the Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that with sincere efforts, effective mechanism and daily monitoring by higher officials , the district attained the first position in service delivery via sewa Kendras .

He also informed that the pendency occurred by the strike by unions have also been cleared in an effective manner which makes this feat more satisfactory.

He also said that a total of 368481 applications were received in the past one year till January 14, 2023 to January 15 ,2024 out of which 7175 were rejected while 355024 applications were approved.

While 5514 applications were under process, the rest had been settled and out of these 5514, only 51 applications pending that were not delivered within the stipulated time.

Sarangal lauded the hard work and commitment exhibited by the officials and employees towards delivering the services to the people promptly.

He added that it was not impossible to achieve this tag without the efforts of the entire team which was an integral part of the whole process.

He said that clear directions were given to the officials/employees to strictly adhere to the timely delivery of the services to the people.

He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed to giving topmost priority to provide services to the citizens without any kind of problem to them. He said that the zero pendency approach was followed by the administration to achieve significant results.

The Deputy Commissioner said that daily evening meetings, personal vigil of each application and effective mechanism and other measures were taken to ensure zero pendency.
Sarangal exhorted the officials/employees to continue to exhibit such zeal and passion towards citizen services.

Under Punjab Transparency & Accountability in Delivery of Public Service Act, 2018, this e-SEWA online system was launched by the Punjab government to provide citizen-centric services to residents of the state.

More than 430 government services including birth or death certificates, Affidavit attestation, Stipend to children of beneficiaries, residence certificate, SC certificate, Registration of construction worker, pension to old age, BC certificate, Electricity payment, Addition of name in birth certificate, Inspection of revenue records, Registration of marriage (compulsory), multiple cases of death certificate, renewal of construction worker card, certified copies of registered and unregistered documents, correction of entry in birth certificate, issuance of death/NAC certificate, Rural Area Certificate, multiple copies of birth certificate, General Caste Certificate, pension to widow/destitute citizen, non-encumbrance certificate, equity entry of mortgage, delayed entry of birth certificate, OBC certificate, Income and Asset Certificate, pension to handicapped, Fard Generation, Apply for disability Certificate (UDID), Countersigning of documents, registration of marriage (Anand), Shagun Scheme, Indemnity Bond, Pension to Dependent Children, Border Area Certificate, Demarcation of land, Delayed registration of death, Counter Signing of documents of NRI, Counter signing of police clearance certificate, Correction of entry in death certificate Kandi Area certificate are offered to the people in the Sewa Kendras.
