New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power with foreign assistance and continues to remain in office with the support of the same forces.
Gandhi made the remarks in a post on social media platform X, as the BJP continued its nationwide “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” campaign.
Addressing a rally in Kolkata as part of the campaign, BJP president Nitin Nabin accused foreign forces of attempting to destabilise India and alleged that Rahul Gandhi was being used for this purpose.
Nabin described Gandhi as a “toolkit” of forces that had allegedly created unrest in Nepal and other neighbouring countries. He accused the Congress leader of leading efforts to create chaos across India and said he lacked a vision for the country.
The BJP president also criticised the Congress leader for allegedly making baseless accusations against the Election Commission, arguing that the party should learn from its electoral defeats.
Questioning the Congress’s objections to the electoral process, Nabin asked why the party was not raising similar concerns in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, where it or its allies had won elections.
He also referred to Rahul Gandhi’s earlier criticism of corruption and alleged misgovernance under the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, questioning the Congress and Trinamool Congress sharing a political platform despite their differences.
