Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has launched a new chat show titled Who is the Boss on YouTube, co-hosted with his wife Geeta Basra.
Indian ODI team captain Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh appeared as guests in the debut 48-minute episode, where Rohit opened up about his personal life, including his love story with Ritika.
Rohit recalled his first meeting with Ritika, saying, “I had gone to meet her to join her company, but I was asleep when she arrived.” Ritika, too, remembered that day vividly.
“We were supposed to meet during a launch event. When I reached there, Rohit was asleep on the sofa while loud music was playing,” she said.
The couple’s friendship began in 2008 when Rohit joined Ritika’s sports management company. “She started managing me professionally, and for nearly 6-7 years we remained close friends,” Rohit said.
Their bond gradually deepened, and in 2014, Rohit proposed to Ritika on the pitch of a stadium in Borivali, Mumbai.
“I couldn’t say ‘I love you’. I just said ‘I you’,” Rohit laughed while recalling the moment.
The cricketer also shared how Ritika would bring him home-cooked food during training sessions, as he disliked hotel meals. “Her house was near my practice ground. I often told her I didn’t want hotel food, and she would bring meals for me,” he said.
Harbhajan, who played alongside Rohit for the Mumbai Indians, joked, “I used to see Ritika visiting you often.” Ritika replied with a smile, “We were just friends then. Love came later.”
Rohit and Ritika eventually got married and now have two children.
