Elon Musk blasts UK police in Henry Nowak case, offers to fund wrongful death lawsuit

London: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has sharply criticised British police over their handling of the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, following the conviction of 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa for murder.

Reacting to details that emerged during the trial at Southampton Crown Court, Musk said he would be willing to support a wrongful death lawsuit against the officers involved and questioned why stronger action had not been taken.

“I am happy to fund a wrongful death lawsuit against these disgusting excuses for law enforcement. They damn well better have been fired,” Musk wrote on social media.

His comments came after evidence presented during the trial showed that Nowak, a university student, was handcuffed by police shortly after being stabbed on Belmont Road in Southampton on December 3, 2025. Prosecutors said Digwa had fatally stabbed Nowak multiple times before officers arrived at the scene.

According to reports from the trial, Digwa initially claimed that he had been racially abused and assaulted by the victim. Investigators later concluded that the evidence did not support that account. A jury subsequently found him guilty of murder.

Musk also criticised media coverage of the case, drawing comparisons with other high-profile incidents involving police and race. In a separate post, he argued that the circumstances surrounding Nowak’s death had not received the same level of attention from major news organisations.

“The only conclusion that can be drawn is that the legacy mainstream media is incredibly, hatefully racist against Whites,” Musk wrote.

The remarks have reignited debate on social media over the police response to the incident, the actions of officers at the scene and the level of media coverage the case received.

Hampshire Constabulary has not publicly responded to Musk’s comments. The force has previously stated that its actions following the incident were subject to investigation and review.

Digwa was convicted by a jury after a trial that examined witness testimony, forensic evidence and video footage linked to the attack. Sentencing is expected at a later date.
