CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced former MLA Harmeet Singh Sandhu as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the upcoming by-election to the Tarn Taran assembly seat.
The seat fell vacant following the death of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal in June. The Election Commission is yet to declare the polling date.
Addressing a gathering in Tarn Taran, Mann said Sandhu would contest the bypoll on behalf of AAP. The chief minister was in the district to inaugurate a project for the construction of rural link roads.
