Mumbai: Videos of Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh’s entry in the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, have taken social media by storm. The episode featuring Diljit is set to air on October 31.
Recently, the makers released a promo on Instagram in which Diljit is seen sharing a lighthearted conversation with Amitabh Bachchan. During the chat, the singer-actor expressed his admiration for the veteran star but also made a surprising confession — he didn’t like one of Amitabh’s films.
“When your film came out, I was very happy that someone beat me up. But sir, I didn’t like one of your films — Saudagar,” Diljit said.
Explaining his reason, he added, “In that film, sir, they announced that Amitabh Bachchan’s movie is coming and then you were shown selling jaggery.”
The 1973 film Saudagar featured Amitabh Bachchan as a businessman named Moti, who sold jaggery.
Welcoming the singer on the show, Amitabh Bachchan said, “Son of Punjab, Diljit Dosanjh ka main hearty abhinandan karta hoon.” In an emotional moment, Diljit touched Amitabh’s feet as a gesture of respect.
