New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders kept their playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 29-run victory over Gujarat Titans in a high-scoring Indian Premier League 2026 clash played in Kolkata on Saturday.
Batting first after losing the toss, KKR posted a massive total of 247/2 in 20 overs, riding on a blistering innings from Finn Allen.
Allen smashed 93 runs off just 35 balls to give Kolkata a flying start. After his dismissal, Angkrish Raghuvanshi remained unbeaten on 82 off 44 deliveries and stitched an unbeaten 108-run partnership in 53 balls with Cameron Green, who contributed an unbeaten 52.
Chasing a daunting target of 248, Gujarat Titans also mounted a strong fightback. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a brilliant 85 off 49 balls, while Jos Buttler scored 57 from 35 deliveries.
Opener Sai Sudharsan retired hurt during the innings but later returned to complete an unbeaten half-century, scoring 53 off 28 balls.
However, KKR spinner Sunil Narine played a crucial role with the ball, taking two important wickets while conceding only 29 runs in his four overs as Gujarat finished at 218/4 in 20 overs.
