New Delhi: Air India has announced that it will deploy its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Delhi-Melbourne route, replacing the Boeing 787-8, to meet growing passenger demand between India and Australia.
The upgraded aircraft will feature 8 First Class suites, 40 fully flat Business Class seats and 280 Economy Class seats. The move will also introduce First Class cabins and in-flight Wi-Fi on the route for the first time, along with enhanced dining, entertainment and onboard services.
According to the airline, First Class passengers will have access to private suites, leather-upholstered seats that convert into fully flat beds, personalised service and premium dining options.
Business Class travellers will also benefit from fully flat beds, greater privacy, additional personal space and upgraded onboard amenities designed to enhance the travel experience.
Passengers travelling on the route will also be able to access in-flight Wi-Fi for the first time, allowing them to stay connected throughout the journey.
Air India currently operates four non-stop flights a week between Delhi and Melbourne. From September 1, the airline will increase the frequency to daily non-stop services.
The upgrade is part of Air India’s ongoing fleet modernisation programme and is expected to strengthen the airline’s presence on the India-Australia sector while offering passengers a more premium travel experience.
