Mitchell Starc takes 10 wickets as Australia dominate first Ashes Test in Perth

Melbourne: Australian pacer Mitchell Starc put on a sensational display in the first Test of the 2025–26 Ashes series against England at Perth. He claimed 7 wickets in the first innings and added 3 more in the second, finishing with a match total of 10 wickets.

With this, Starc became the first Australian fast bowler in 35 years to take 10 wickets in an Ashes Test. The last Australian to achieve this feat was Craig McDermott in 1990, who took 11 wickets for 157 runs in the series.

Starc’s performance played a key role in giving Australia a dominant position in the Perth Test and set a strong tone for the series ahead.
