Washington: US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Tehran, cautioning that Iran would face unprecedented consequences if it launches further retaliation following the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israel airstrike.
In a statement, Trump said any escalation by Iran would be met with a response “stronger than ever before,” underscoring Washington’s readiness to act.
Explosions reported in Gulf cities
Fresh explosions were reported in Doha and Dubai amid rising tensions, as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed to launch its “most intense offensive operation” in response to Khamenei’s death.
Iran has reportedly fired missiles and deployed drones targeting Israeli positions and US-linked assets in the region. Gulf nations have heightened security, with some temporarily restricting airspace and advising residents to remain indoors.
Region on edge
The situation has significantly escalated fears of a broader regional conflict in West Asia. Diplomatic channels remain under strain as multiple countries call for restraint and de-escalation.
With both sides issuing strong warnings and military activity intensifying, global markets and aviation routes across the Gulf region are witnessing disruption.
The developments mark one of the most serious confrontations in the region in decades, with international leaders closely monitoring further escalation.
