Police encounter in Amritsar: Gangster Amri killed, wanted in 4 murder cases
Amritsar: An encounter broke out between police and security forces in Amritsar’s Jandiala Guru in which gangster Amritpal Amri was killed by the police. He was involved in 3 murder cases.
The deceased gangster is a resident of Bhagwan village of Jandiala Guru. His age is said to be about 23 years.
SSP Satinder Singh said Amri was arrested yesterday. Amri had said during interrogation that he had hidden two heroin along the canal. After which the police team went there to recover heroin. He also hid a pistol there.
On the pretext of extracting heroin, he fired from the pistol kept there. Then he started running away with handcuffs. An officer was injured by his bullet. After this, the police asked him to stop but he kept firing directly. After which he was killed by police firing in retaliatory firing.
