US citizen woman killed by in-laws in Sultanpur Lodhi

Jalandhar: The police have claimed to have solved the case of the death of a US citizen woman in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala. The in-laws had strangled their daughter-in-law to death.

The police of Sultanpur Lodhi police station have registered a case against the deceased’s parents-in-law and husband under murder and other sections and arrested the in-laws. However, the husband of the deceased is currently in the US.

The mother of the deceased woman, Nirmal Kaur said in a complaint to the police that she is a resident of village Mokhewal police station Bilga district Jalandhar. She now lives in the UK. Her daughter Rajdeep Kaur was married to Manjinder Singh, resident of village Nano Mallian police station Sultanpur Lodhi 7 years ago.

Her daughter and son-in-law live in the US and both of them have a five-year-old child, who lives with them in the US.

Complainant Nirmal Kaur also told that her son-in-law used to pressurize her daughter to get the property in her name so that she could become a green card holder there. He is currently living abroad illegally. Her son-in-law, mother-in-law and father-in-law colluded with the plan and strangulated her to death.

DSP Sultanpur Lodhi Babandeep Singh said that it was the in-laws who strangled Rajdeep Kaur to death. Both have been arrested. They will be produced in court and remanded. The police are investigating the matter.
