Widespread protests against domestic violence in Australia, PM calls it a national crisis

Canberra: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Monday described domestic violence as a “national crisis” after thousands of people protested across the country against violence against women.

Thousands of people protested in several Australian cities to draw attention to the deaths of 27 women allegedly due to gender-based violence this year.

Albanese said today that the rallies were a call to all levels of Australian government to do more to prevent gender-based violence.
