Chandigarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted raids at multiple locations in Chandigarh and Ludhiana as part of its probe into the alleged misappropriation of funds from the IDFC First Bank accounts of Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) and the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
The searches were carried out at five locations, including the residences and business premises of suspected beneficiaries of the allegedly diverted funds, the premises linked to CSCL public servant Anubhav Mishra, and other private entities connected with the investigation.
According to the CBI, the searches are part of an ongoing investigation into the suspected fraudulent diversion of funds belonging to CSCL and the Municipal Corporation.
During the raids, investigators seized several documents and digital evidence, including storage drives, digital signature devices, property-related documents, financial records, multiple electronic devices and other materials considered relevant to the investigation.
The CBI said the seized items will be examined as the investigation into the alleged financial irregularities continues.
