London: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has stepped up engagement with the Sikh community in the UK during his ongoing visit, visiting the prominent Khalsa Jatha British Isles Gurdwara in London and offering prayers.
Bhagwat arrived in Britain on September 2 as the final leg of his three-nation tour covering the US, Canada and the UK. The visit is part of the RSS’s global outreach programme during its centenary year.
The RSS released photographs of Bhagwat’s visit to the gurdwara on Friday. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney and other community leaders were present to welcome him.
Bhagwat’s engagements in London are being hosted by Integral, a UK-based organisation that works to promote long-term ties, dialogue and cooperation between communities and leaders in the UK and India.
According to the RSS, more than 115 social and cultural organisations in the UK have joined Integral in welcoming Bhagwat and supporting programmes associated with his visit.
