Tarn Taran: Two young men were allegedly shot dead late Tuesday night in Pakhopur village near Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran district, triggering concern in the area.
The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Palwinder Singh Pinda, a resident of Pakhopur, and 26-year-old Gurinder Singh Billa, from Khara village.
According to police, the preliminary investigation suggests that the two men may have been killed at another location before their bodies were dumped near Chohla Sahib. The exact circumstances and motive behind the killings have not yet been established.
On receiving information about the incident, DSP Harinder Singh of the Sri Goindwal Sahib subdivision reached the spot with a police team. The bodies were taken into custody and an investigation was launched.
Police are examining CCTV footage from houses and shops in the surrounding area to establish the sequence of events. Investigators are also trying to determine where the two men were before the incident, who they were with and whether they had any recent dispute or contact with anyone.
Police have not disclosed any information about the suspected attackers or the motive for the killings so far.
