Ending services of experts will suffocate Delhi govt: Kejriwal
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the move to terminate the services of experts and consultants will “completely suffocate” the Delhi government and its services. Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena had recently terminated the services of around 400 ‘experts’ appointed by the Kejriwal government in various departments.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the Supreme Court would set aside the order.
Following this, the Delhi Services Department has written to all departments, boards, commissions and autonomous bodies under the government asking them to restrain them from appointing anyone as an expert or advisor without the approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
