Flight carrying 231 Indians from Sudan arrives in Delhi, 2100 evacuated so far

New Delhi: The Indian government is bringing back Indians stranded in Sudan under ‘Operation Kaveri’. Meanwhile, another aircraft of the Indian Air Force reached New Delhi with 231 Indians. Indian carrier IndiGo had taken off from Jeddah carrying Indians stranded in Sudan. Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan gave this information by tweeting. Muraleedharan tweeted that the flight carrying 231 Indians has reached New Delhi.

    With this 5th outbound flight, 1600 Indians have reached home safely. 

 

   In a statement, IndiGo said it is committed to supporting the central government’s mission to evacuate Indian nationals from Sudan. The airline has taken further steps to address the humanitarian requirement so that the stranded citizens can be safely brought back to their families, the statement said.
Earlier on Friday, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that 2,100 Indians have reached Jeddah so far under ‘Operation Kaveri’.
