Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahib’s gates open, 2,000 devotees arrive

New Delhi: The gates of Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, set up at an altitude of 15,000 feet in Uttarakhand, were today opened to the Sikh sangat and the holy saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was illuminated as per gurmat maryada. 
    With the opening of the gurdwara gates, the annual yatra to Sri Hemkunt Sahib has formally begun. Under the leadership of the Panj Pyaras and under the echo of the chants of the Sikh Sangat, the holy saroop was placed in the Gurdwara.
