Supreme Court’s huge order on 6-nonth waiting period for divorce
New Delhi: The Supreme Court today said it can annul a marriage on the ground of inability to bridge the gap between spouses. Justice S.K. A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice S A Kaul said the apex court has the right to do full justice under Article 142 of the Constitution.
Article 142 of the Constitution deals with the enforcement of its orders to do ‘complete justice’ in a matter pending before the court. The bench comprised Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice A.S. Oka, Justice Vikram nath and Justice J.K. Maheshwari is also included.
