Chandigarh (Harpreet Singh): The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, has clarified that the voter lists published on August 13 were draft electoral rolls and not the final voter lists.
According to sources in the Punjab CEO’s office, the matter has been examined and necessary entries will be incorporated into the final electoral rolls for Punjab, scheduled to be published on October 12, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission.
The clarification comes amid concerns regarding entries in the voter lists published earlier. The CEO’s office said that the final voter list will reflect the entries as per the Election Commission’s prescribed guidelines.
