Anand Marriage Act needs to be amended: SGPC Chief
Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Bhatta Sahib during the ongoing Jor Mela. Later, talking to the media, Dhami said the Anand Marriage Act is yet to be fully implemented and there is a dire need to amend it.
He said that the resolution of 1909 in the Anand Marriage Act should be implemented in letter and spirit.
/He said that no Gurdwara should be named after the personal name of any individual and orders have been issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib in this regard.
