Engineer trapped in borewell in Jalandhar: Gets down to fix the machine; NDRF launches rescue operation

Jalandhar News: The engineer got stuck in an 80-feet-deep borewell being built for a flyover on the Amritsar highway in Jalandhar. Till 12 noon on Sunday, NDRF teams are conducting a rescue operation and searching for him. The engineer has been identified as Sudesh (30). He is a resident of Jind in Haryana.
     Initial investigation has revealed that Sudesh had landed in the borewell to fix the machine. He had also taken an oxygen cylinder with him, when he started coming up, the soil came and fell on him. After this, other employees present at the site started the rescue operation. After this, more than 40 feet of soil fell into the borewell.
