Farmers in Jalandhar lift protest from railway track after receiving assurance of meeting with CM today

Jalandhar News: In Jalandhar, farmers sitting on a sit-in opened the railway track. Today, after getting assurance from CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the farmers decided to lift protest from the railway track, but the Delhi-Jammu National Highway is still closed. The railway track was closed for the last 24 hours.
       Around 40 trains were affected today due to the closure of the track. Of these, 24 trains were cancelled. Earlier on Thursday, about 51 trains were canceler. 
       Today is the fourth day of the farmers’ protest. The farmers are blocking the national highway at Dhannowali, some distance away from PAP Chowk, while heading towards Ludhiana to press for a hike in sugarcane prices and other demands. 
      People faced trouble due to highway jam. However, the service lane of the highway was opened by the farmers late at night. After which the traffic started running smoothly.
