Kotkapura firing case: Sukhbir Badal appears before Faridkot court; The next hearing will be on August 19

Punjab News: The hearing in the Kotkapura firing case related to Punjab’s famous Bargari sacrilege was held in Faridkot court on Friday. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, former SSP Charanjit Sharma and former DIG Amar Singh Chahal appeared before the court in connection with the case. The next hearing of the case will be on August 19.

There are two FIRs 129/18 and 192/15 registered in the Kotkapura firing case. The SIT, headed by ADGP L K Yadav and SSP Bathinda Gulneet Singh Khurana, has submitted a 2,400-page supplementary challan a day before the death of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. Earlier, on February 24, 2022, a 7,000-page charge sheet was filed in the Faridkot court.

Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, then IG Paramraj Umrangal, SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma, SSP Faridkot Sukhmander Mann, DIG Ferozepur Amar Singh Chahal and then SHO City Kotkapura Gurdeep Singh have been named as accused in the case.
