Two killed, 2 injured as car falls into canal in Kapurthala
The car went out of control and fell into a canal near Phagwara in Kapurthala on Wednesday morning. Two people died in this accident. As soon as the incident was reported, the policemen standing at the nearby checkpoint immediately jumped into the canal and saved the rest of the people in the car.
The deceased have been identified as Inderjit Singh and a woman Purushottam Kaur. The accident took place on the Phagwara National Highway.
According to the information, Inderjit Singh along with his wife Harpreet Kaur, son Gurbaj Singh and aunt Purushottam Kaur were coming from Garhshankar to Jalandhar. Inderjit Singh suddenly started feeling nervous near village Boha in Phagwara. Due to which the balance of his car deteriorated and the car collided uncontrollably with the divider, police said.
