Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has called for the free and unrestricted broadcast of Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib, saying the sacred message is meant for the entire humanity and should not be subject to commercial interests.
Mann said the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) should focus on taking the sacred message of Gurbani to people across the world. He argued that broadcasting rights should not be restricted to any particular television channel or commercial platform.
The chief minister said commercial or business interests should not take precedence when it comes to broadcasting Gurbani.
He demanded that Gurbani broadcasts should be made available free of charge to all media platforms without any commercial agreements, allowing the Sikh sangat in India and abroad to access the sacred Gurbani without restrictions.
