Nuh: A young man allegedly killed his mother for Rs 20 in Haryana’s Nuh district and fled after the incident, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place in Jaisinghpur village, where the deceased, identified as Razia, was attacked by her son Jamshed, who is reportedly addicted to drugs.
According to the police, Jamshed had demanded Rs 20 from his mother on the night of July 19 to buy drugs. Razia told him she would give him the money in the morning.
However, when Razia did not give him the money the next morning, Jamshed allegedly got angry, attacked her with an axe and slit her throat. The woman died on the spot, police said.
The accused fled the scene after the incident. The younger son of the deceased, Rizaul, informed the police, following which the body was recovered and sent for postmortem.
Police said a case has been registered on the complaint of the younger son, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
