Prof Ashim Ghosh sworn in as Haryana Governor

Chandigarh: Prof Ashim Ghosh was sworn in as the 19th Governor of Haryana on Monday. The oath of office was administered by Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Sheel Nagu at Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh, with Ghosh reading out his oath in English.

The ceremony was attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini and Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.

Ghosh replaces Bandaru Dattatreya as Governor, with his appointment announced by President Droupadi Murmu on 14 July.

Ghosh, who has previously served as the BJP president in West Bengal, said after his appointment, “It is a matter of great honour for me. I will serve the people of Haryana with sincerity and dedication.”
